Getting the Most from Your Membership

Whether you're new to Penarth Yacht Club - in which case, welcome! - or have been a member for years, this page brings together useful information to help you get the most from your membership.

There are lots of ways to enjoy being part of PYC. Whether you've joined to sail, row, train, take part in fitness and wellbeing activities, enjoy our social events, volunteer, or simply make the most of our unique waterfront clubhouse and community, we hope you'll find something you love.  Rowing and sailing are at the heart of PYC, but club life is about much more than being on the water. Our aim is to be an active, welcoming club where members can get involved in ways that suit them and enjoy the clubhouse throughout the week.

What happens when I join?

You'll receive a welcome email letting you know that your membership card is ready to collect from the bar.

For very recent joiners, your welcome email will also include the front door access code and, if applicable, the entry code for the women's changing room.

The staff team will add you to the PYC WhatsApp Community. This is one of the easiest ways to find out what's happening at the club and join activities that interest you. From there, you can join individual groups for things such as rowing, sailing, training and wellbeing activities. You can, of course, leave any group whenever you like.

If you'd like someone to show you around or help you work out how to get involved, just ask - we'd be delighted to help.
